Chase continued to have blood pressure issues all week last week and he was readmitted to the children's hospital on Friday night. His medication dosage was changed on Friday and it seems to be a good dose for him. His BP is still up and down, but seems to be a bit more stable. He had more blood work done yesterday that came back good. We still do not know what is causing the spikes, but at least he is having fewer episodes. We came home this evening and we are just monitoring his BP every 6-8 hours.
The nephrologist is referring us to the neurologist to see if the dizziness and digging at his eyes is neurological or just related to the blood pressure. Chase did have a tiny lesion on his brain when he was 5 weeks old. It was never explained or followed up on and given his medical history the nephrologist just wanted to rule it out.
Chase is so funny...first, he only let the nurses and doctors do their exams if they turned on Toy Story for him to watch. As soon as they would walk in the room, he would hand them the remote. Then on Saturday, he learned to climb in a rocking chair and rock in it all by himself, so everyone that came in the room after that had to watch him rock in the chair and then turn on Toy Story. :)
I just learned about your son through a event page on facebook. I remember ryan from when he was doing his student teacher at north when I was a student there. I just want to start by saying I will be praying for you and your family daily. I know how it is to have a sick son and it is not easy. I hope they continue to figure everything out and he's able to be a healthy little boy. It is so hard to see a child sick especially when its your own. My son was diagnosed with a brain tumor back in febuary 2011 and we had some problems with our first childrens hospital as well. So we immediately just up and left everything to get him the best treatment possible at st.jude childrens hospital in memphis. We have been in memphis ever since so he can receive treatments. I know our sons conditions are nothing alike but if you ever need to talk I am here to listen and talk with you about it. Also if your ever looking for another nephrologist, memphis has one of the best childrens hospital called Le Bonheurs. There where named one of the top in the us for nephrology and several others. They done my sons brain surgery and where terrific. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers always. I love how you still keep your faith. It is easy to question God in situations like this believe me I have. But I just keep believing and knowing that God is going to bring my son thru this and he sure has blessed him so far just like he has your son. Children are so amazing. There such soldiers thru all this. If it was an adult in the same situation, you wouldn't see us fighting like the children do and always smiling. My son has smile thru it all just like your son. It truley is amazing. God Bless you and your family. I will add him to some prayer list here in Memphis where some local churches have been helping us while where down here.
